Benvenuto!
I am the CAO at NTI in Eagan, Minnesota, which is where I started my career in education in 1990--except NTI was then in Eden Prairie.
I started teaching in 1990 after 7 years as a tool and die designer. My experience in business taught me to bring real life situations to the classroom and my positive experiences with non-traditional academia spurred me to bring learning opportunities to blue-collar workers. Over the years, I have worked as a teacher, trainer, training manager, dean and provost. I have a passion for technical education and skill training, as well as a passion for educating the subject-matter-experts who provide us with the knowledge and skills we need to be successful in our chosen careers.
Since 1996, I have been involved in online learning as a student and as a teacher. I believe online learning provides a viable option for people who want to continue their educations, but have difficulty attending a face-to-face classes.
Experience has taught me that classroom learning has a place, online learning has a place, and while some students--and teachers--succeed in one or the other or both, many students need help learning how to learn, period.
